The black plastic side panels on my aged Swift Mondial are starting to crack and ideally should be replaced - can anyone suggest a solution please or a contact where replacements may be obtained?   Many thanks...

Have you had any luck sourcing your panels? I am looking for the same for my 1996 Mondial.

Would appreciate any info.

Thanks

Thanks Folks for your interest and advice.   No joy with Charles & Son - the company which did produce the plastic panels has ceased trading.   I will continue searching and, if successful, let you know Ian - perhaps you could do the same.   Kind regards and happy hunting...

Cheltenham Laminates made a lot of the Autosleeper mouldings.   They too had black panels on side ie Symbol, Duetto not sure who made them though.

Perhaps you could try a search that way.

Thanks Jana, tried Cheltenham Lamination's without success.   They produced 'fibre glass' side panels for a wide range of Autosleepers but never dealt with Swift or indeed never produced plastic panels - as the man said 'who would want plastic panels, they deteriorate'! Keep Hunting....

Rog'..What sort of state are the existing panels in...?

Couldn't you just take them off and repair & respray them?

Thanks Pepe...diy is a last resort.   The team who serviced my Camper declined to remove them because of the risk of making the damage worse - there are splits in the central area.   More importantly there are areas where a number of the retaining screw holes have disintegrated leaving holes the size of about a 2p piece. Temporarily I have resolved this by fitting large external black coloured washers before replacing the screws.   A bit 'Heath Robinson' but it has kept out the water so far.   Ideally I need someone who is prepared to risk removal, refit/glue/strengthen etc and then replace the panels.   They have retained their colouring so no issues there. Thanks for your thoughts on this though Pepe, much appreciated.

Ah! I see...so they may be a bit too far gone, for a "third-party" to risk "getting involved" removing them then....

Not sure if of any use but have you tried making enquires through these?:

http://swift-owners-club.com/index.html

..failing that...what about checking out some of the online caravan/Mh breakers?...

Edit: I've only just noticed that there's list of 'em on this site!

(..it can't hurt to ask the question...)

Hi

I have a similar van with deteriorating side panels... Can they just be removed? What's behind them....

Cheers
Matt
