Hi,

On news tonight it says theres to be a couple of hours of frost tonight, do we NEED to drain down, or will the fact its inside ( the van ) mean it won,t have long enough to do its damage ?

Well it depend where you are, north east and the dales seems to be the worst affected areas at the moment, but its not going to last, i'm full of water ready for Southport Easter rally, if it dumps it dumps,  will refill again in the morning

we came back from our first trip of the season yesterday, because we heard the frosts were coming back we drained down completely as a precaution.
best to be safe than sorry I say.

Im an emergency plumber with many years experience of pipes freezing. For a short overnight frost you have nothing to worry about.

It has to be a lot colder than you think for a pipe to freeze and also the temperature has to stay well below freezing for over 24 hours.

Draining down over the cold winter months is important when the temp is below zero for a few days
