Can anyone help?? Our old girl has a pop up roof which turns into, what appears to be sleeping area. However, the "bed" looks like it can be expanded. There are grooves on edge of the roof which would take poles/bed extention. Has anyone seen this or have any ideas of where to get the bed extention?

One of our vans from the early 80s had a canvas roof bed, one side of which was fixed to the inner edge of the roof, and the other to a steel pole, which could be rolled out and dropped into u-shaped brackets partway across the opening. Do you have any such brackets (2 sets, one for when rolled up and the other when out)?

Does it have the 2 'moveable' boards that go across to form the bed?

Ours is an autosleeper and our friends have got a Holdsworth - and they are the same design up top.

We have 2 boards that slide back and forth to make up the bed area. however as there are only the 2 of us and we dont use the upper bed we took one of the boards out to give us more space.

Def worth signing uo to Club 80-90 (its free!) cos there is a 'wiki' section that will give you oodles of info and you can ask any daft question you like - we might laff at you but someone tends to know the answer!

hi.looks like you will have to cut another board .
having been involved in vw campers for years i suggest you have a word with a local joinery shop. the best boards to use are block boards . they dont bend like ply etc . cover it in some carpet looks just like the right thing .
we have slept two adults on ours when we had a sheldon hightop . same sort of bed arrangement.
