Now that most of my chicks have flown the nest, we are seriously considering downsizing to something that would be more managable for me to drive.  We currently have a 6 berth Lunar Champ with rear bunks, beneath which we store my mobility scooter.  We would ideally like a 4 berth van conversion, but still need somewhere to store my scooter.  We have seen different vans that would work, but our main concern is selling the van we have.

I know dealers will take a van in part exchange, but I don't feel that we get the best value for money in doing this.

Does anyone know of anywhere that buys used good condition motorhomes for a fair price?  I'm in the Surrey area, so don't want to have to travel too far.

Many thanks.

Sara

Ive always found Ebay is a good showing of what market prices are. I know a lot of people have had problems with Ebay but curiously I never have. You can try selling your van at YOUR price with a buy it now and see what happens.
Autotrader is also a good place but watch out for the scams and dealers haggling you down
Dealers will sting you rotten.

I use ebay and have never had any problems ...as long as you use a bit of common sense ...use the classified add as thats the cheapest way to advertise a vehicle...you can add a part in that lets you accept offers or think them over..these are set by you and anything under these levels it automatically rejects ...be clear in your advert you wont tolerate any nonsense or bidder with little history ....and defo no  bidders from nigeria

We down sized our caravan 3 years ago from 4 berth to. 2 berth. We are now waiting for a new 4 berth .

We were away at Easter on a rally and noticed mostly couples on the rally all with quite large 4 berth vans or motor homes. The weather was very cold and we couldn't use our awning to sit in or eat in. So again we noticed the lack of space.
So we are now upsizing.

It is normally only hubby and I although sometimes we take along a couple of friends.  I want something smaller that I can use to just sit by the river locally in, as well as useful for day trips to the coast.  If we go along for longer than a night or two, we hire a static anyway.
