Belonged to both 'til 1st June...cancelled the C.C. just a load of trouble effort and complications when attempting to book a site...cant be doing with it I am afraid. Our weather comes in spasmodic erratic intervals, and I dont want to be booked on a site if its going to be miserable. We prefer to phone a day if needed befor we leave wherever we are. Just spent the whole of this extended bank holiday weekend in an area of the best the weather had to offer (Thursday to Tuesday) and only called site the previous weekend. So why the need I ask myself.....motorhomes are self contained, and its not cold enough now for the need of heating.Just do it.  Different thing if you absolutely need to be in an area for a specific time, then plans have the need to be made to avoid any panic.

The cc looks confusing with the pricing....do you have to pay per night for each person cos that makes it very expensive! Well since there are 6 of us. Any campsite recommendations for the Cheshire area?

We usually use CL's  and not maintstream sites however I would go CC every time - you get what you pay for whereas the C&CC sites are typically far lower spec and highly pricey as they have to cater for tents who have no facilities with them.

the standard of the last couple of CS's via the C&CC have been dreadful and as a result cancelled my membership

Rabble..if you haven't already done so,it's worth doing a "search" on here(this question gets asked a fair bit)..

It all depends on what you want from your sites...

We've been in both(..and still in the Caravan Club)..We found the CC sites to be of a consistantly higher standard and generally just better kept and although, maybe slightly more "fuddy duddy" (  ),that does mean that you don't tend to get screaming kids bouncing footballs off your pride and joy....

We've never had any problems with booking sites..and I like the ability to just book online and get immediate confirmations etc(..I get really fed up when trying to contact some non-club sites, with calls/emails not returned..  )

..and although in many cases, neither clubs' pitch fees are that much cheaper than a commercial site(except for any midweek/OAP deals)I suppose for the 40odd quid it costs, there's no great loss giving either of the clubs a try....

Having said that,we tend to find most of our sites from on here...

we are members of both - don't know why we are still members of cc&c we have only used 2 sites in all the time we've been members! Although we have RAC and they cover the caravan because we are member of cc&c. We've used lots of cc sites and they are always of a high standard. Lately though we have been using ukcampsite to get recommendations so maybe when the subscriptions are up we'll save our cash - £60 will get us a weekend away!!

We are members of both and use clubs for sites depending where we are.  Most of the CC sites will accept non-members at a £ or so more per night.  But if you are wanting to find sites in whatever area you are going to there is no better webb pages than this one (UK campsite).  We have found several good sites through the pages here.

We are in the C&CC but under no illusions that these 'clubs' are in fact businesses.

Both come into their own when you get access to the small sites, temporary holiday sites and rallies etc. From a standing start I'd be tempted to go for one each year and see what you think. With a motorhome also have a look on the web for wildcamping places and pub stopovers.

Cheers!
