I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but I'm trying to reach as many people as possible as time is short.
I'm looking to hire a campervan from July 20th-30th (yes that's friday). We had arranged to hire a friends van but that has just fallen through. We are based in Edinburgh with a budget of £250 - can anyone help?
Just to give you an indication of cost, before we bought our own camper/motorhome we hired one at a cost of £500 per week and that was in May. So no doubt, in peak school hols you would be looking at a lot more than that.
Hi Jess and welcome to the forum. Not 100% certain and we don't own a motor home but there is a place in Perth that sells motor homes and I'm sure I recall seeing a sign a while back advertising motor homes for hire. Use google to check it out. Fingers crossed to get something in time.

Thanks for the replies. We are definitely hoping for a private hire - I've looked into the commercial hires and got quotes of £650 up to £800, which is just way too much for us. Our friends had agreed to £250, maybe there's someone else out there who will! I'll keep looking...

Mojo - for hiring from my friend we are both fully comp so that would cover it
Check your policy. Lots of companies have dropped the clause allowing you to drive other cars and, even if it's still there, it's probably only 3rd Party cover.

Mojo - for hiring from my friend we are both fully comp so that would cover it but I hadn't thought about 'hiring' insurance. Hmm.
IIRC, there's generally a specific exclusion on the vehicle's use "for reward". That obviously rules out taxi use, but I would have thought it also rules out hire.
Anyway, hope the tenting is fun - looks like you will get good weather at some point in the next few days, no matter where you are!
