Hi there, Just to give you an indication of cost, before we bought our own camper/motorhome we hired one at a cost of £500 per week and that was in May. So no doubt, in peak school hols you would be looking at a lot more than that. Good luck with your search though!

I would guess it's going to cost about £1000 if you can find one unless a friendly face will let you have theirs privately.
Good luck with your search though.

I wouldn't think you stand any chance for that amount of money - even cars cost more than that from reputable places.

Out of interest, what do you do about insurance for a private hire?
None of the policies that I've ever had allow the vehicle to be hired out.
So presumably the owner would have to get specialist insurance for the period. Anyone done this?

This site may be worth a look but don't think you'll get anything for £250.

Most peoples insurance wont allow them to hire out their motorhomes privately.

Check your policy. Lots of companies have dropped the clause allowing you to drive other cars and, even if it's still there, it's probably only 3rd Party cover.

IIRC, there's generally a specific exclusion on the vehicle's use "for reward". That obviously rules out taxi use, but I would have thought it also rules out hire.
Anyway, hope the tenting is fun - looks like you will get good weather at some point in the next few days, no matter where you are!
