Hi
I have just had a Nissan Elgrand converted and made a trip to France. I couldn't quite get my head around which combination the electric switches had to be in to get the fridge to work. I got it to work initially but then it decided that whatever I did it didn't want to work. I certainly couldn't get it to work with a hook up. Anybody got any ideas?

Hmmmm... I don't know what fridge you've got, but generally you will have switches for 12V and 240V. These are independant and when you're on EHU, only the 240V will work. This also goes through the fridge thermostat - the 12V generally does not, so is the thermostat turned up?

So first things.. is the EHU working OK. Have any breakers tripped or fuses blown? Do you have a test meter to check that the continuity to the fridge is OK? Does it work on 12V. (when driving) and/or gas?

Next, was the van level when parked? Fridges are sensitive to tilt and want to be kept level. Also, was the sun shining on the van behind the fridge? This might sound odd, but you need to keek a cool airflow behind the fridge. Some people fit a small computer type fan to keep the air moving.

Two drifters off to see the world.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
