Well what can i say, but well done to the people that run the council in NewBrighton. very clean/spotless and wait for it FREE PARKING all along the promenade, i honestly could not believe it i had to ask twice before it sank in, and you can stay one or two nights, they will not move you on,(campers/motorhomes) now you must make use of the fort parking area only and not along the promenade. Nice shops/restaurants and the all ever seaside fish and chips. I thought i would share this with you all, it is not every day you find a seaside resort that will let you park for free, if only other places were to follow suite. Ok New Brighton is not Blackpool, but in my opinion its far better, tide out you can walk along what i consider a very nice sandy beach or just seat there and soak up the sun. WELL DONE NEW BRIGHTON. +++++++++++++++++++++++++
Well done indeed. New Brighton was my local seaside as a
kid growing up in Liverpool in 50's though it has changed a lot since but still lovely expanse of sandy beach.

I hadn't been there since 1969, i was courting my mrs then, and took her out on the back of my vespa there, gosh those were the days, and yes i do not remember any of the so called starbucks coffee shops or prezzo, there was none of that then, just a few stalls selling the usual seaside stuff. I will definetely revisit.
I went for the day last week with my sister - lovely day wandering along the prom, fish & chips on a bench, (lovely loos at the Floral Hall) walked along the beach and had a paddle then an ice cream and bought some rock for the kids.
Not the prettiest of places but great for a day at the seaside. OH says the fishing's good off Fort Perch Rock and kids were having great fun crabbing in the marine lake.
If its free.....count me in.!..You know me and wasting money. My Mum was born in Liverpool and all of her hols were spent at New Brighton....we have tried to find the house she was born in, but it seems to have been bulldozed and some new Architectual monstrosity is in its place...we 'walked up the road' on google maps to have a 'look'. WE SHOULD have taken her home for a look around befor it was too late...but alsas never got around to it. Will have to come and look around.
Agree 100% they have made a nice job of it and certainly the on front parking areas farther along from the town are sensibly marked for motorhomes. We have been a few times over the last couple of years
I was instrumental in getting parking on the car park in front of the fort. I had a meeting about two years ago and showed them what the towns and cities do in France and then i heard nothing more, so it seems as if some one was listening, i did ask if they could provide water/electricity,waste water, maybe??
I think you would be pushing your luck art , but on the grass further along would make a super aire.
They did have parking on there when the Tall Ships were in Liverpool
I remember going to New Brighton for a day with my parents when I was a kid in the mid 60s and thinking it was the most boring place ever, there was nothing there except some derelict grey thing on the promenade/beach so it's not somewhere that I would purposely go back to, but maybe it's changed a lot since then.

Went there in march stayed 2 nights no problem not on the perch castle,
Spent friday just gone in Chester on the little roodee,
then upto new brighton on saturday morning arrived around 9-30am went to the perch castle car park couple of motorhomes still there from the friday night ,they said they had a horrendous night with loud music from the clubs over the road until 4am and to top it all one had eggs thrown on his windscreen.we stayed for the day on the perch casle car park no problem but be advised it gets very busy and there is chance you could get boxed in.shame about the hooligan eliment ,but its only what you can expect being in scoose country.
we left around 6pm and stayed on the far end of kings prom in the wallassey end and had no problems 4 others also there for company.
Unfortunately, overnight parking for motorhomes is now prohibited on New Brighton prom, due to a complaint (unconfirmed) of a motorhome owner discarding toilet waste into the sea. However, you can still park your lorry, car or caravan overnight and watch the not very secret nightly drug deals!
