need to join two cables for electric there is a thing like a rugby ball that keeps it dry and safe where can i buy one  does anyone know must be caravan plugs..............

That's the actual lead the OP wants to put a protection cover round. What they want is a plastic protector shaped like a rugby ball with holes in each end for the plug and socket mains cable to fit in. I think I have seen them in the past but I thought they were used mainly for a 240 volt extension lead with a standard domestic 3 pin plug and socket as these are not protected from any damp. In these circumstances you would actually need a cover but like the mains cable shown in the above link you don't as these are designed specially for outdoor use like I said in my previous post.

The Rugby ball type cover doesn't appear to have an IP rating so possibly no or minimal protection from water.

the covers I have seen certainly do not appear to have any great ability to prevent water ingress. I would hazard a guess that if they were IP rated it would be one of the lower levels such as 2 or 3 and certainly not up to 5. Whenever I have connected two cables I have tried to keep the plug and sockets off the ground and not only does it stop them laying in puddles it also makes them easier to see and less likely to get run over. However whilst I am not happy about connecting two cables a connector cover as described would increase the visibility of the connection.

I carry 2 cables and frequently have to couple them together with no problem whatsoever. Seems perfectly safe to me!
