My missus and are are looking for a motorhome with a U-shaped rear lounge, we've looked at two; an Autotrail Apache 634U SE and a sligtly older Hymer B534.

Both feature over cab beds, although th Hymer is drop down unlike the Autotrail which can be used for storage,  and both have good storage at the rear, accessable from hatches either side.

We are looking strictly for a 2 berth when it comes to travelling so aren't fussed that the belted seats outnumber the berths, the spare bed might be handy for visitors but not really needed for family holidays. What we really want is a well speced, good quality van that we can use all year round and use to travel abroad.

I've looked at the advantages and disadvantages of an a-class vs a coachbuilt, and our choice comes down to these two; our biggest concern is having trouble free holidays in a motorhome that will last us for years.

After years of caravanning in our beloved Burstner we love German build quality, so I'm leaning toward the Hymer.

Anyone got one of these or have toughts on this?

Chewie

Hymer it! Just look at the prices of coachbuilts v A class, if you buy at right price, depreciation may be less? I was looking for an A class, likey a Hymer, (don't like the 'swelled head' of coachbuilts, and bad aerodynamics. Anyway, bought me a very big Dethleffs A class! Good luck with whatever you get, Chewie....Dave
