Hi I have owned a hobby caravan for almost 10 years and find the german vans are very well made. However we are now going down the motorhome route and would like comments on the Niesman&Bischoff and theAdria, any comments on similar vans would be welcome. Thank you.

The N & B is a top range van but the Adria is made in Slovenia.

Hymer and Burstner are popular German vans which you could consider.

I have a Hobby siesta 600 and so far beats all the british motorhomes i have had in the last 30 years apart from  a Foster and Day conversion on a VW LT. so far nothing has fallen off or broken. Its for sale if you interested??? loaded to hilt with extras.17

Just a personal opinion but I would say that the more recent Hymers do not seem to be of the same build standard as the older models

You could also add Laika and Concord to that list as they cost and arm and a leg

Had a Hymer, not impressed - especially with the after sales service and support. Stopped me buying them again, since then had a Rapido (French) and now a Pilote (also French) both excellent vehicles and easily on pair with the Germans

Just bought a Burstner as the last 2 british built vans both had to have damp repairs in the first 2 years of ownership.

We were new to motorhoming and bought a 1993 hymer earlier this year off a well known site, its been brilliant!! Excellent condition, well built and i would definately recommend them!

I don't know if you are the "makem" asking about external screens for a Carthago on another forum, but if you are (I can't post on that forum) I have recently bought external screens for a 2012 Chic I Line 4.7f from :

The screens that fitted were from their Polar range but you need to specify the model and year exactly as the first one I ordered was for an earlier year and did not quite fit as Carthago have slightly repositioned the large mirrors on later models.

I eventually visited their suppliers in Sheffield and they made new screens while I waited.

I am now very pleased with the final product.

Had our LHD Burstner A538 for 10 years. Now done 125000 miles and we still can't find anything better when we think of changing. We go to the continent twice a year because it's cheaper and campervan friendly, 6000 miles a year, 25 mpg and only one breakdown which was fixed overnight.
This model is still fetching 10-15000 euros over there.
Speaks for itself.

We couldn't fault our Adria Coral which we sadly had to sell. Also owned a Euro Mobil. Both foreign makes were, in my opinion, superior to UK vans.
