I wonder if anyone knows why the pump in my 2010 Swift is slow to operate when a tap is turned on, it sometimes takes 5/7 seconds for the pump to start, it will then run without a problem, but if I shut off the tap then open it again there is the same delay.
Does it splutter at all when turned on??? if it does you may have an air lock, if the problem persists then it could be a leak somewhere in line to the tap/s, check very carefully and see if you can spot any wet patches/damp along the water pipe/s.
Have you got an accumulator fitted, these help to stop the pump constantly chattering if for instance you only partly open a tap, with one fitted it would also take longer for your pump to respond as it would take a little longer for the pressure in the water pipes to drop enough for the pressure switch in the pump to operate, two differant types spring to mind the whale ones are white look like a filter will be mounted in a T joint near the outlet of the pump, the fiamma ones are bigger and blue and will be mounted much the same way.
------------- here today , where tomorrow?
yet another full timer,
Thanks both, the water does not splutter in the way that air in the system will produce. And it does look like it does have an accumulator fitted but I wonder if this is where the problem lies, perhaps it needs some maintanance or replacment. We are now back in the UK. so I will drain down and check everything over.
