I would love to go away at Christmas but unfortunately we still have our grown up daughter living with us and she works over Xmas and new year so we feel guilty leaving her and it is also her birthday the 29th.
What is the cost of these webasto systems approximately. Sounds really good.

Just bought our new (to us second hand) van in september and cant wait to get out and about over winter. Our old panel van conversion had no heating in it so was on used through spring and summer
We use our van right through the winter. Wind, Rain or shine
During the winter we do more wild camping. The small villages welcome the extra trade. Many times we stop at pubs where we can eat and have a drink. I always offer to pay for the night but most landlords are just happy with the extra trade. The Western isles of Scotland are great but you need to take extra precautions for severe weather. The ferry crossings can sometimes be a bit scary.
Hi Lindylou, Sorry dont really know the cost of a Webasto system, but good old ebay do sell them greatly reduced, obviously not fitted.

Our Motorhome, new to us already had the heater fitted, they are a brilliant source of heating and I would recommend it anytime. We are never cold in the winter, if anything too hot. We have camped in -7 many times over the years with no problems. I can honestly say if we replaced our motorhome at anytime and it did not have a webesto I would have one fitted. They are really economical with the diesel, we usually run it continuously from a Friday night until we leave a site on a Sunday and we use less than a quarter of a tank of fuel. Hope I have not rambled on too much Sandra.
We are off to Ross on wye the 27th til new year, nothing booked for January yet but we tend to just book last minute in the winter months as places are rarely full.
Need to decide where to go February half term,
We do use the van a lot for days out too, so it's not stood too long,
------------- Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Before buying, bare in mind that they use more battery power than most types of heating. They are also considerably noisier than gas heating and do give off diesel fumes. They are however extremely economical. I have used one so know from first hand use not hearsay.
