Has anyone had one of these and if so please share your opinions. Also, if possible, please direct me to some on-line reviews. I am thinking of buying one but can't get a lot of info on them other than spec, which seems pretty decent. I'd like to know of others experience with them if possible.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have a McLouis Glen 440.

Is it specific info on the 701 that you want or just McLouis in general?

Hi Bestyman, some specific info on the 701 would be appreciated, but if you could tell me your experience with your MCLouis that would be great too. To be honest, I am not that familiar with the McLouis make so wouldn't know anything of the quality to expect so any info would be welcome really.

Thanks.

We have had the McLouis glen for 2 years now. It is a 2005 model.
McLouis are a budget range from Italy.
Ours is a Fiat Ducato cab, but from what I saw when I googled the701 thats a Mercedes cab?

The appliances in ours are Fiamma fans, Thetford toilet, Electrolux fridge,, Truma heaters etc, so in that respect the same quality as any other van. The shower is very good, although with the curtain up is too small and without the curtain it hits the door and leaks.

Drivers seat fraying a little bit but now repaired. Some blinds stick a little.

Drivers seat is possibly too high so you look out through the top of the windscreen.

The main problem we have had is that at the back ours has two large garage door where the rain got in and made them damp and soggy. As only the doors were affected it was something that a joiner sorted out in half a day.

The layout of ours is good but we all tend to be huddled around the dining table with no room to lounge about, however it has 4 beds permanently made up which is good.

Not many McLouis here, but we saw hundreds in France.

Overall happy with it, but next one will have a bigger lounging about area with bigger windows - thats just a personal thing.

I think emm-bee.co.uk used to sell them.

Thanks for that detailed response. Yes, the one we're looking at is on a Mercedes chassis and has the bunk-beds in the back, two dining areas, a single and a double in the centre and the cab over head. It is a 2002. We'll likely go for it because to be honest the price seems right, which in these harsh economic times is always going to be a factor.

Thanks once again for your insight. If we do opt for this one I'll do my own review in case others are interested.
