Lets see how long is a piece of string???in general i would do my home work ie, go to motorhome shows and some dealers around your area and start looking at some very seriously, that might give some you food for thoughts, in the end its what will make you happy as a compromise between the motorhome and caravan, i have tried toying and have done for a while, towed all the way down to Pompei, but i found that after all that travelling i needed another break, we swichted to our first camper back in 1974 and have had motorhomes since for the sole reasons that we like to wild camp on our way and in France/Spain/Portugal/Italy and best of all Gremany that in my mind its the best country to offer stellplatzes, ie, places you can stop overnight either free or just a few euros, you will not be able to do the same with a caravan in tow, so i preferably would choose a motorhome tag axle or not, tow a car if you must but a lot more flexiblke in terms of movement, BY THE WAY LIFE IS TOO SHORT DO IT NOW,
