I'd say no to that. Discs and drums must be clean at all times for the pads or shoes to work.

Unless.... If you 'layup' the MH, you could jack up the vehicle, support on stands and then remove the wheels and then the brake calipers / discs / drums etc.

You then use some spray waxoyl on the discs and drums.

But I would have a huge notice on the dash board to remind myself to clean THROUGHLY the brake discs and drums before refitting.

Please don't, you could never clean the centre cavity of a ventilated disc of waxoyl, ever

This is why I said 'remove' discs and drums.

So when you come to clean them prior to refitting, you can get in there and clean ALL areas - holes / centres etc

Use a hot pressure washer / steam cleaner to do the vents if any waxoyl got in there. The heat taken up off the washer in the disc will dry it out.

Hang on....?  Pressure washer? Maybe Dishwasher!

The rust is only what they call surface rust and as soon as you start using the vehicle it will wear off and they will be shinny again.

only problem is if the vehicle is left a very long time

even a trip round the block gently braking does the trick
