Ours is 6 metres long but high because of the roof box. We have never had the slightest trouble (and I have had it in some very tight situations)

I think the main thing is always to be very aware of the size and never put it where you won't get it out.

Sorry for stating the obvious but it really is easy to forget

Trafford centre O/H was confident....I shut my eyes enough said!   Park and rides are getting better I noticed York have a designated area at Grimston Bar now and Scarborough too! We generally bike, walk or use buses from the campsites Cycle net work has bus routes marked on the maps as well as cycle routes!

Lewend, it's stating the obvious but when you are tired or stressed I found that it helped on all my previous motorhomes to put the height and width in both metric and imperial on a note behind the sunshade for ready access. Sometimes height barriers have little or no warning  and a quick check to confirm all is OK  17

Mine is stuck on the rearview mirror as it only gives a view of the bathroom door anyway.

Ours is eleven foot three (with the topbox)
OH assured me that we would be OK as she tried to direct me under a nine foot bridge   needless to say, I passed on that one

Our van is 7.4 metres long and 2,35 metres high, we tour the UK, France, Spain and Portugal, and so far to date we have not had a parking problem for shopping at any of the major supermarkets, or when visiting towns. We do sometines use park and ride but not very often. We also have a label fixed to the drivers sunvisor with the vehicle dimension on it.

It would pay you to subscribe to www.wildcamping.co.uk and download their stopover software which shows all the free overnight and pub car parks where you can park up for the night.

Our tourer days are over and we have moved on to a Hobby Motorhome
