took me several vans and awnings to arrive at what I have now...to me its the best compromise for an everyday driver/4berth camper ...I can put the khyam awning up on my own which is important to me as I take the kids away alot on my own when wifes nightshift .....I can see where your coming from with the size of the nv200 for everyday use and for fuel consumption, I just hope it doesnt turn out to be to much of a compromise on the camping side as having looked at one recently(down to your thread i might add) it does appear very small.......good luck

Yes, it's a compromise for sure. Our balance is towards dayvan with the odd night out and tow the caravan behind for longer spells away. Just put my money where my mouth is today. Paid the deposit to book my space at the converters ! Hope we've got it right. LOL 17 I know what you mean about "one man awnings". The caravan awning is brilliant but really best if there's two of you.

Is the bed the same size as in a T4/5? The3/4 beds are fairly cramped. Our vito has a full width but I guess that's just a question of preference, or your ability to sleep in small spaces! Certainly the leg room with the bed out would be none existent. I can't really see the attraction over the standard size camper, esp at that price. Small differences in dimensions seem to me to be significant in campervans.

Love he idea of new camper conversions though

The bed in our nv200 will be almost exactly the same as a 3/4 VW type bed. Should be OK for the odd night for 2 "hobbits" like me and the wife? We want a campervan for day trips and the caravan for longer breaks and tours abroad. On site we have the benefit of a dayvan for beach trips and so on.  A VW from Denby Campers with a Buckinham conversion costs upwards of £25k or so. Long wheel base but based on a second hand vehicle. You should just see the full specification on the base vehicle Nissan, brand new.The full cost of buying the new van and very full spec conversion will probably match the £25k or so, on the road, including alloy wheels etc   see much more detail at

dinkumsblog  Your comments above match my own on the blog almost word for word!

Our Nissan will have aircon, multi airbags, cruise control sat nav, rear view camera, 6 speed box and be brand new. A brand new VW camper can be upwards of £50k easily.

Not sure I agree with those VW prices, there are plenty of good quality full conversions for well under 15k.and you get quite a bit more vehicle for your money. But that's just my view.

Nonetheless it's a really well appointed vehicle and a nice bit of luxury to have for weekends. We've been using a Vito and have actually been thinking of a caravan for the longer holidays. We're not quite ready yet though, there are a few more campervan years left in us yet. The Eriba vans have been catching our eye.

Enjoy your new van, let us know how it goes!
