Most likely a fault in the control unit. It is not detecting that the pilot is lit and it then shuts off the gas.

I have similar intermittent problems with the hot water heater in my van. I my case, it seems to be dirty / corroded electrodes.

The control unit for the RM760 is expensive (£100+) so you may hope that it's a more simple problem.

Is it level? I think any more than 3 degrees of angle it stops working on gas.

I have a Dometic fridge and mine has an intermittent fault on gas similar to yours.

Waggling the connector strip to the control box made it work. On mine the control box was accessed by removing the lower panel outside.

As you have already changed the control unit I would suspect this.
All the terminals and connector on mine look perfectly OK, but yet it still plays up now and then.

In fact I had a control unit fitted about a year ago, and now believe that this may have been the fault all along.

When the weather is a bit better, I`m going to look for a more permanent fix. The last time I waggled the wires was 2 a.m on last Saturday morning in the snow.

Try prising the white connector strip with a screwdriver or putting it on at a slight angle.

Ok I think its an earth problem, I had that with one of my campers, and having it checked at a motorhome dealer, they found that the fault without having to replace expensive items!!! Check all the terminals for a good tight fit, also wires which are earthed to the body of the fridge.

Hi,

Something here to check out, but to be honest its just a guess.

It may be that the electrode that lights the pilot also acts to tell the gas valve that the gas is lit. (a thermocouple would have done this on older set ups).

IF it is a sensor electrode, make sure it is in the flame fully.

Hi We sometimes have this problem with our fridge when trying to get it to work on gas.  A solution I have found is to light all the rings on the gas cooker to enable the gas to get through well enough,  turn the rings off then try the frindge in the usual way.

Hope it works

Twurly
