This is a warning to understand your warranty before you buy . That is if you get to see it! I discovered after purchase that there was only one dealership in the UK,to service and do the habitation check for my van. Unfortunately they were the worst company on the planet and couldn't have cared less. Why would they? The Office of Fair Trading and Trading standards said it was not against the law -the fact that I could not take my van anywhere else when they failed to repair and caused damage was obviously of no consequence. Please check before you buy!

Yes, unfortunately caravans & habitation area of motorhomes are not covered by same law as cars which allows servicing by non franchised garages without loss of warranty.

However, unless you require warranty work the habitation service can be carried out by any motorhome workshop as European built motorhome interior fittings are mostly common to all makes. The base vehicle service including warranty work can be carried out by any local garage. I'm assuming here that base vehicle is European not American.

i had a  problem over xmas with the esbacher heater so got the clearance off the warranty company so contacted the dealers and was informed that the van needed a service ( i'd not even done a 1,000miles) so had to pay for a service before they would tackle the problem.  turned out i had a sattelite fitted before xmas and the fitters had put a screw through the control cable.
