We have bought a camper van and would like to keep my car for commuting. Her who is always obeyed has her own car, so would mean me insuring 2 vehicles. The insurance company say's I can have a no claims discount on 1 vehicle only and was talking around £1200 to insure a P reg Laguna. When I picked myself up of the floor I said this was not going to happen and would take my business else where!!! Problem is where do I take my business, is there a way round this? Help please
When I insured my first motorcaravan they agreed to match the NCD (full with protected bonus) on my car insurance (which was with another company) It's with Motorcaravanwise. They said it was because I wouldn't be driving both at the same time.
You could try Adrian Flux as well as UKCS members get a discount.
It's better to use a specialist insurer anyway for the campervan as they do better policies than normal car insurers, specific to campers

You will get a discount also for being a UKCS Member, but wait until they have given you a price before you then ask for the discount, if you get what I mean!
I've insured our new van through the Caravan Club whilst keeping my other vehicle insurance plus NCD. The cost was £290 for a nearly new Horizons Unlimited Cavarno 4 (which is based on a SWB Ford Transit), I think they have included a 40% introductory discount. I think you are supposed to be a member of the CC to use this service (at a cost of £32) but I was never asked for membership number etc.
