some motorhomes are fitted with a device that
a) when on hook up the charger gives priority to the leisure battery then charges the engine battery
b) when the engine is running it gives priority to the engine battery & then charges the leisure battery
if the vehicle has not been used & not connected to the electric hook up it is possible that both battery's are flat The usual advice is to disconnect both batteries or leave the vehicle on mains hook up if it is to be unused for more than a fortnight as batteries tend to self discharge over a period of time
this is the reason many folk have a solar panel to keep the engine battery charged ,& remove the leisure battery to put it on trickle charge at home or have a duel battery solar charger fitted
