Same as the UK in our experience (in Italy and France). We have never had any trouble. Maybe take a hose connector that fits fully over a tap just in case.
In france last year our pitch was near the emptying point for campers it was also where caravans emptied there cassette toilets it had a drain in the middle of some angled concrete along with a big length of hose for people to wash out there toilets etc.The cleaners each day did a good job but always stored the hose with one end tucked about two foot into the drain, one day a Dutch van pulled on emptied his waste tc and then stuck the same hose about two foot of it into his clean water tank and filled his camper up. It was only when he had finished I think it dawned on him what he had done because hs wife camp out and looked and then he started to smell his fresh water tank.
So be careful I reckon they must of all of had a case of Delhi belly after that.
I always make sure the water is well away from the emptying toilet facilities, but i'm afraid that is not always the case, always check before you refill,
Thanks to all for the replies, but I actually meant the fresh water connection - ie, is it 1/2" or 3/4" bsp as here in the UK, or is it likely to be a "metric" pipe thread.
I replied earlier saying that the threaded ones were BSP the same as ours, and if you buy the tap connector from B&Q etc., you normally get the 3/4 and 1/2" screwed together, make sure that you also take one of the universal push on ones as well.
