Hi
I have a 1996 Hymer E690 and have recently had a new engine battery which over a period of about a month goes flat..the Motorhome Centre have checked the charging etc and found no issues but still it keeps flattening...I have checked the starter motor is tight and clamps on the battery are tight as it always seems to have a slow turn over when starting? Any ideas please?

Have you checked the mounting where the earth lead connects to the body? They sometimes get corroded and make a bad connection.

How about a drain check? it could be something draining/drawing a small amount of power to flatten it over say 2/3 weeks period.

Thanks both for your help, i will check the earth lead as I think there may be two faults, the earth lead causing the slow starting/turnover and how do i get or do a drain check?

simple get yourself a volts meter digital or not it does not matter, take the negative lead off the battery and connect the meter in parallel ie, between the lead and the battery post, of course you must have everything switched off for this, if there is a reading on the gauge then you have an item that is drawing whatever your gauge is telling you,
