He's just rung trading standards and they say as he handed the deposit over aware that it was not as advertised he wouldn't have comeback. He would have to depend on the dealer being decent...what are the chances of that if the caravan was misreprisented

He made a mistake VW.  Salesmen can be very clever and buyers can be dim/easily confused.  I dare say I've done something simmilar myself in the past.  I want to help him not blame him. 

If he was given any written contract, check thoroughly through the small print and look for a get out clause. There may even be a cooling off period ?

We once backed out of a purchase of a brand new motorhome because they could not deliver anywhere near on promised  time. I used the dealer's own contract to get my money back.

He has just looked and was only given an invoice with extras written on.  They did talk about the 'missing' bits so I suppose that was an awarenss but in the confusion...

He says he feels such an idiot.

His mate says to put it down to one of life's experiences.

I'm wondering if he should forgo the deposit (£900) and look elswhere so the dealer doesn't get any more of his cash.
