HELLO TO YOU ALL

We have just rid our lives of a leeky luna caravan which was bought new in 2008 and now back motorhoming. We have gone for a 2005 Swift  kontiki 615 which will be ready next week. Would like any feed back about van and what to look out for. It's on a fiat docato 2.8.

                         Many thanks Mark & Shirley

P.S. Hope to see you all in the SUNSHINE

Huhhmmm the first thing is you probably never heard the saying ie, LEAKY KONTIKIs, I had one in the early seventies on a Talbot, and yes it leaked like a sieve, I changed it within a 8 months period of ownership, I would personally invest in one of those damp meters and go right through the van before you hand the cash over and that's the truth. I have not since touched anything made by SWIFT. Its French or German vans for me.

Perhaps the later ones are not so prone to water ingress as the very early ones who knows???

Did they even make talbot/kontiki's in the early 70's?

certainly the early 1980's one's were know for damp but i think a 2005 model should be ok. Great engine though the 2.8td

Either I have a ghost or my remark that I have never had a leaky has come back and bit me bum.Removed the seat that covers fresh water tank and discovered baffle on water tank filled with water. Can only hope water ingress from rear window and not a ghost.

We had a 1991 Fiat 640/6 leaked down the panel behind the drivers seat and I could never find the source In the end I just bored a hole and let it run through! it also leaked at the back n/s corner and left a horrible stain.

probably the newer vehicles are much better.

well you can blame me I do not mind, I only expressed my true opinion to first post on here, as I said I changed mine within 8 months and that was on advice giving to me by a friend that actually worked for a big dealership based in Bagshot, alas now defunct, but still going, in Preston and other areas I believe.
