Hi
We have a motorhome and will, for the first time, be taking our new dog with us. We are struggling with what to do with a dog if you want to go out for a few hours to a place that doesn't accept dogs, especially when the weather is warm.
Can anyone give me some information.
Thanks
As you say 'we' I presume there are at least two of you. It certainly wouldn't be advisable to leave your dog in the motorhome for any length of time, especially in warm weather, so depending on the places you went to one of you would have to stay with the dog while the other went in, otherwise you don't go at all. As an alternative if you wanted to go somewhere for a full day rather than just a couple of hours then you could always see if there are any kennels in the area which take day boarders.
I have this problem all the time as I have two dogs and am on my own, but I manage to work round it most of the time, otherwise I just accept that there are some places I can't go to.

I have a very temperamental personality - 50% temper and 50% mental
We usually book places where our dog can go with us. If not the weather is usually pants anyhow, so we close all the blinds, leave the extractor on and the van doesn't get too hot on all but the very warmest of days.
We have a thermometer in the van and wont leave her when its over 20c.
Its rare we leave her anyhow, thanks to this website doggie pups
------------- On the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.
we have just adapted that everything must include the dog meals are the hardest but in summer we just eat outside and if we really cannot take the dog one of us stays with her it`s just the way it is with a dog
Thanks everyone. When we stayed in Brighton by the Marina we (2 kids, 2 adults) took Cody with us. We got on the bus, he walked all round Brighton and then back along the front. We were so proud of him, not one single problem, and believe me, that's progress!!!
We've decided that tomorrow my husband and children will go swimming and I'll stay with Cody. Not that I'm too bothered, can't bear all the faffing around before and after the swim.
It's going to have to be a learning curve I think.
our dog as been trained since a puppy to go every where with us in campervan.she will sit in the front seat and guard the van ,leave her for up to a hour if we have to ,open roof vents close side blinds leave plenty of water never had a problem but would never leave her if it was very hot weather ...a dog is part of the family
