If it's gas and electric, like the old Electrolux 3-way fridges, the mixer tube on the gas jet has a habit of rusting on the inside and partially or fully blocking up.
It's not complicated to clear this out, but that sort of "servicing" job is one that most people probably wouldn't want to do themselves.
