Basically whatever you prefer and can afford really - and whatever works where you want to go.
I've got an outdoor aerial, which I bought for my caravan, but you can get a clip which sticks to the outside of your camper to put the pole into. My friend, on the other hand, has an aerial that she puts out of her window and sticks to the windscreen. She seems to get a pretty good picture with it.

I use a normal house aerial and pole, attached to the van using 2 of these - I have found that it out performs most camping/indoor aerials by a mile
That's the thing I have too.
The link to the one on Ebay looks good, too, and would do away with the need for a pole.

i use one of these .works fine . many truck drivers use them .
comes with a bracket to wall mount it or mount it on a pole .i rivetted mine to my roof ladders and feed the cable through the front window . easy to remove if you need to. i will as trees and bushes are often low on some of the roads i use. it comes with a mains to 12v adaptor but i also have a 12v feed to it .bit like the telly .polaroid ping digi . bought in asda for 49 quid .also works on 12v . cheap set up. and works brill here and abroad.
Found an Aerial cable behind a fitting on the wall. There is also an Aerial socket but nowhere to attach the Aerial to the roof. We are thinking of a long Pole for reception as where we stay there are very high Trees which block the TV signals. It will mean putting the Aerial through the Window but if Weather bad it wont help with the warmth in the Camper. Dont want to drill holes, I suppose there is nothing else to do with it than out the window. ???
