Hi out there, can anybody help me.
I can't get any hot water from my Carver Cascade 2 plus water heater. When I turn it on , after a few seconds the alarm button lights up. I have only just bought this motor home so not genned up on this sort of thing.

Welcome to the fold, ok is the gas on? have you removed the outer heater cover? is the battery fully charged? all heaters that work on 12 volts if the voltage is below a certain level then it will not ignite/light up hence you are getting the alarm light coming on. does that make sense?? One more thing have you tried it on mains? hook up your lead to the camper and try it on mains.
Thanks wineciccio
I will try that. one thing need to ask because I am not the brightest bulb in the box regarding motor homes. Does the gas have to be on if i'm on mains.
And Steve, whats potatoes and veg got to do with it.?
Its ok we all have to start somewhere/sometime, well if you got mains hooked up try it on mains first,no you do not need the gas on, at this stage, if the heater works on mains then switch the heater off. keep the camper hooked up, put your habitation panel on 12 volts and try again on gas, hopefully this time it should switch on re, the battery is getting charged by the built in charger powered by the mains and theoretically should be in a charged condition to fire the heater up ,does that make sense?
The other thing may be that the heater has no water in it. With the heater switched off, run the hot tap until water comes through, thus filling the tank. Then try the heater. It might work.
This has been so useful for me too. My carver heating didn't seem to want to work on electric only although the hot water would. Do I need the gas on to use the heating?
Johnny, the veg line is the 'signature' line that can be attached to your post...see mine about it not being the strongest that survives.
Then go back to your account and add your own.

All too clever for me! anyway got to the bottom of my water heater problem. the bit that fires up was knackered. I ended up taking my motorhome to a repair shop which also gave me the opportunity to get the whole thing checked out and serviced. 500 quid later I now have hot water and peace of mind. Thanks for your interest and advice anyway Wineciccio
