We have a Combi heater/water heater in our motorhome and thinking about draining down for the winter although we will still be traveling around sight seeing so will need the heater on. One nagging thought in my head is that when we have the heating only on the water still gets warm. Now, I have read some where this will happen and is normal but I worry about the heater elements getting hot with no water in the boiler. Our friends have the same thing happen in their motorhome but can any one reassure me on this fact. Our motorhome is a 2008 Moncayo (no, we had not heard of this make either) but it is such a wonderful motorhome and is our third which is far better than the first two. Thanks for any help.

Moncayo are excellent motorhomes made in Spain, and the heater you referring to is meant to work that way, ie, if its full of water then it will automatically heat up with the heating on, but if its empty I assure you its not a problem, my last motorhome was a Hobby Siesta 600, and it worked that way with no problems at all. Try it on your drive before you go anywhere???
Thank you so much wineciccio, for answering my question.
Yes its such a great motorhome, the quality of build is so good. Its everything we wanted in a motorhome.
Thanks again.

No probs and please do not leave it on the drive. Use it as much as possible even in winter. I changed mine not long ago because my mrs. hanged her boots up, I'm not ready just yet that is why I swapped for a trigano tribute, sheer luxury for myself and the rare occasion that she wishes to travel somewhere sometime.
