I did last year and he never got back to me and it was pretty expensive that way when I think it could be cheaper to make our own. On very limited budget here.

they are very high quality Hanz, I've had mine for a couple of years now and find them invaluable, I toured the north west of Scotland at Easter last year during the prolonged cold snap and they kept the roof space toasty...
I did investigate making my own but by the time I had sourced the correct type of foil insulation and the time it would have taken, I reckoned it wasn't worth the bother so just ordered a set..
I believe he does it on the side and its not as his main job and I know that Daren makes them in batches, once he has a large enough order he sets to work and wont take any more orders till for a while....
also when I ordered mine Darren had never made a set to fit a LWB poptop uk roof like mine so I had to send him the measurements and wait, unsurprisingly they fit like glove ...
Hanz, I have not made any insulation for my pop top but I have made a full set of cab window panels using foil backed "bubble" type insulation.
It should not be too difficult to sort a pop top but it was quite time consuming and is cheap (ish) to do. I bought heavier duty suckers for my modified truck universal kit as the original suckers just were not up to the job.I wired the suckers in place onto the foil. You could use Velcro for your pop top. I reinforced the foil with silver gaffer tape where the "fixings" were added. A bit of careful measuring needed. It may need a bit of skill fixing the insulation and then popping up the roof before fixing the bottom of the panels in place. Go for it !
------------- cramming for my finals in the twilight zone
Hanz, locally we can buy textile material and curtain linings for £3.95 per metre. A lined "curtain" all round with press studs or Velcro could be easier if you have access to a sewing machine?

Hi Owen, I cannot speak for the pucerscreens insulation, but anything which traps air layer(s) between the inside and exterior will help stop heat escaping and cold radiating in. Just think about domestic insulated curtains. Thicker material and a lining fabric in addition to the curtain. Makes a difference to comfort levels.
For a DIY job you can use press studs to keep an insulating inner "tent" in place. Hope this helps.

We have just moved from tugging to a motorhome.
Our 'van (a Hobby) has built in screens at the doors and front and I was amazed at the condensation on the inside of the windscreen in the mornings. That was in the early part of Spring and I don't know whether this will continue.
I've bought a pair of 'Survival` blankets' from a Pound shop (I wonder how much they cost???)the type they dish out at the end of marathons, and some bubble wrap, cost £1.40. I put the bubble onto a pasting table and sprayed it with sprayable contact adhesive. I hung each blanket up and did the same then gently lowered the blankets onto the bubble (SWMBO helped) Did that to both sides and then cut to size.
I tidied up the edges with gaffer tape and put some eyelets in for suckers.
Yes, it has some small creases in it but it looks like it will do the job by adding a layer of air to combat the condensation and reduce heat loss. If I find it works I will do the same on the door screens. It weighs next to nothing and I'm on the lookout at a carpet shop for a tube to put it in to help preserve it.
------------- How come when some people visit the fountain of knowledge, they only gargle!!!
We brought the Khyam Cali Kozy the difference its made is astounding. At times in winter we sometimes struggled through with the roof down, now its top up all the time.
Can't reccomed highly enough, it may not fitt your specific top but I believe that a company that make car covers where comisioned by the California website to make something very similar and they may be worth contacting. Hope this help as our cover has really made a big difference in how we use our van.
Mick.
Thanks Dinkum. I think I might invest in one of the pop top covers. If they help increase the amount of time I can use the van then they'll be worth it.
