As said above, if possible, take it back and get them(dealer?) to put it right..
If that isn't an option, then be aware that just renewing the plastic insert(Herzim Strip?) in an aluminium moulding will not be enough..it'll probably be the bedding mastic, underneath the moulding, that needs attention.
The moulding really needs to come off and be resealed...but NOT with silicon, use a decent PU sealant (Sika etc)
Also be aware that the damp may be a result of a leak elsewhere(..maybe from a window or skylight?...)
As for the hinges...Is it possible to tackle them one at a time(by removing/drilling out the fixings)and then soaking them with something like a *silicon spray lube and working them back and forth.....
(*if there's any plastic/nylon components, then WD40 can damage them).
