Hope you have had a very enjoyable Christmas Holiday period. I guess that must be so, as not many posts on here during that time. Itend to make an apperance if a little bored!

Today, as Members of the above 'club' we have received a 'Special Offer' price of entry into the (Manchester) Caravan and Motorhome Show (23-26th Jan) SENT IN POST!.  Only days before we received our monthly Club Magazine. Why could postage etc not have been saved by the 2 items arriving for the same fee in the one package? Seems totally stupid to waste money in this way. I KNOW that to include extra items within the magazine incurs an extra cost of that insertion....BUT not as much as sending as seperate articles.The offer(s) are/is for advance tickets £6.50 as opposed to regular advance tickets at £7.50 ( In our case a saving of £1 a ticket) or advance ticket £6.50 each as apposed to £9.00 at the door. Plus you/I have to make a phone call to get thisspecial offer!.This assumes that 'we' will be able to take advantage of these 'special offers' and that circumstances do not change for us , or anyone, that would prevent us from using said tickets, booked now, that far in advance!!! We feel that a more attractive offer should have been possible had the offer, made seperately, been included 'within' the Magazine as a seperate leaflet, or as part of the printed magazine,. If as part of the magazine, no extra costs would have been incurred at all what so ever!. Thus allowing a better "SPECIAL OFFER" for the tickets,  by 'our' club!

AND GUESS WHAT!...The little lady has just pointed out to me that I have wasted my time writing this....AS AN INSERT WAS INCLUDED IN THE MAGAZINE PACKAGE!....The offer is no different, as regards prices. The leaflet is different in both size and shape. What a load of waste. Both shall be going into the recycle box forthwith. DOLTS !    What a waste of members money. When will managers etc wake up to the fact that prices for Club membership should not be wasted in this way. Prices could be lowered for pitch fees etc, if someone could use just a little more gumption! ....Serious thought needed as to renewal of membership me thinks. We quit the Caravan Club earlier, so the other one better just watch out.  Happy New Year All.

Me again,  Happy New Year all.  It seems that I am not alone in feeling how I do about the waste of  'our'  membership fees!, I guessed as much. We all know that we are supposed to 'vote' on our 'selected' people in charge to the committee. Oh what a pain. Page after page of drearyness in the magazine. JUST WHO can be bothered. Run it like a 'Holiday Club' not a flaming bank. I, well I mean we I suppose, have made our minds up, We finished with the Caravan Club last May (2013) and shall finish with the Camping and Caravan Club in July this year, when the membership is up for renewal. I confess now, that we have never booked a site/pitch with either, and this due to the prices of the pitches.I cannot coment on any site, of CCC or CC never having used one. New years resolution made, and have a lovely year 2014, lets hope the weather is as good as last year, albeit a late start to the 'season' in 2013. Sadly the CCC as lost its way, the inflation busting price increases, and over complicated pricing structure will be its downfall, unless those in charge of such matters come to their senses. In my opinion there is to much empire building, and not enough of good house keeping.I am a long standing member and have raised my concerns with them, but it appears they think the preposed pricing plans will be good for the membership !Only when they see half empty sites and cancellation of memberships will they perhaps learn. Its a sorry do.
