Pre 2001 Trafics with power steering are very thin on the ground. You'd be lucky to find one. Then you would have to strip all the parts off, rack, pump resovoir & pipework and perhaps the steering column. To be safe, you would need to check and perhaps repair these parts before fitting them to your van.
Once fitted, you would then need to have the tracking checked / set.
Going the electric route is much simpler and could work out cheaper.
As Nora says, quite a few RTMR members have had this conversion done and all are really pleased with the results.
