Hi Nora,Depending how bad it is, start by getting a garden fork, a good foot press into the ground, wriggle it, move on a foot, repeat, over the entire area. this loosens the compacted soil and allows air to circulate. Depends on how much sun light the ground gets, you may need some grass seed. Weeds will try to grow first though. hope this helps.Bill.
