We are new to motorhomes but have caravanned for many years. One thing I miss from the caravan is clothes storage as we had hanging, drawers and shelved space. In the motorhome there is very little space apart from a small amount of hanging and overhead lockers, has anyone found a good way of storing clothes that makes them easily accessible apart for clear plastic boxes?

It depends what motorhome you have. In our Bailey 740 we seem to have quite a lot of storage although it did take us a while to work out the best methods.

It is a bessacarr, plenty of locker space I just wondered if there was a good system that someone had worked out. All the clothes for four of us just seem to get in a jumble at the moment.

I had the same problem with my wife who wanted to take everything, we have a van type conversion motor home, so in the end i got fed up of trying to fit it all inside so i now tow a trailer with it all in

I buy easy care clothes that are easy to wash, quick to dry and wont crease and keep them in a big carrier bag in the van wardrobe.

Autosleeper Clubman - footwear in under-seat drawer. What can hang up is in the wardrobe. Small items of clothing in one of the lockers above the rear seat - one locker each. A small zipped up bag of Stuff slung in the big over-head locker. A plastic box sounds too inflexible for awkward shaped storage areas. The simple answer is - take less, wash more often, factor in the time for this as local as relaxing-time not a travelling day. I went to NZ with a bag no bigger than what I take in the MH - what you need for 3 days will do 3 months.

It's amazing how you can improvise with clothes if you only take a few.

When the weather changed for the better last year I went and got a couple of t'shirts from a nearby charity shop. Then, before I set off home and after washing them, donated them back thus helping their local economy.

Hi,

As a family of five we added "hanging Shelves" from Ikea to the wardrobe to increase storage of folded clothes.

In the summer I tend to war Technical style outdoor clothing (long winded way of saying air-tex) which doesn't tend to show creases and therefore my wife and kids take the wardrobe and I end up living out of a soft holdall that
is stored under one of the seats.

We also keep a nylon bag from decathlon for dirty clothes for quick re-cycling at the laundrette.

If we are away for just a few days then a small holdall each that is usually kept in the shower tray works well.

I must admit that I always bring some things back unworn - usually the smart outfit that you always pack "just in-case"

As above really, a family of five, we all have a holdall each with our stuff in and hang up what is needed but if things get creased, who cares, your on holiday.the kids holdalls go on their beds and the adults in the wardrobe. I also keep underwear the zip pockets of the holdalls so everything is kept together.

I get the hanging space, and have a bag in the bottom with smaller items in, plus a home made bag on a hangar for undies and bits for easy access.
OH has 2 shelves, he keeps his things in 2 bags, clean and dirty. We each have a large plastic tub under the bed for shoes and other stuff, I have spare toiletries, sun cream, first aid, travel guides, phone charger etc in mine.

hi have a look at a top or back box for your MH you can get a lot of stuff in these, and have you tried rolling
clothes up they take up less space and do not crease has
much.
