I have a McLouis Tandy 672. The leisure battery was replaced last week. Today suddenly nothing works through it. The control panel and all aux works through hook up and when driving but nothing when on leisure battery only. Please help!
The leisure battery was replaced last week but was it fully charged before you installed it? Leisure batteries are sometimes standing in storage for long periods before selling to the customer so it should have been checked with a meter first to see what the existing voltage was. A fully charged battery should be reading around 13 volts and anything below 12.7 volts is only partly charged.
If it was ok when installed & has now failed then probably faulty battery. If it all works on hookup & with engine running it suggests it is charging ok but will not hold the charge. As pointed out check battery with volt meter. If it is over 13v on hookup or with engine running but voltage drops right down with engine & hookup off then suspect dud battery.
Charge up battery & check it stays charged, if it don't, take it back.
OK,I have a McLouis Glen, and here is an outside chance.
I found out by accident, but its possible to turn the supply off at the control panel. If you press and hold the power key it counts down the lights from 3 to 1 then turns everything off.
To turn back on press and hold, then turn on lights/ water etc individually.
Just a thought, hope it works.
