Sorry folks. Got so stressed at my old motorhome conversion i withdrew into my private shell. 6 mths later the home part is totally renovated. I had to get a coachbuilder to finish it working part time. He rebuilt interior exactly replacing as was in original state.
Anyways i got a technician to safety check the gas/electrics. He advises that the gas canister compartment be boxed in and steel lined as it is under the wardrobe with only plywood btn the two. It is 23yrs old.
This will mean slight re route of gas pipes.
£400-£500 is quote to do work.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Cheers Dave

He is a technician working for money & has to advise correct way of doing it the way he sees it. The box does not actually have to be steel lined & you don't have to spend £500. Most important is that gas bottle locker has hole in floor at lowest point so any leaking gas can escape as lpg is heavier than air.

Its your choice, if you felt you needed outside help to check your work then you may want to pay for a professional job. Common sense needs to prevail, if you are capable of building a camper interior then you are capable of building bottle locker, with bottles secured & drop out vent in floor I would have thought.

Thanks Ron. The advice made me paranoid about safety.
