I'd already ordered some decals from http://www.hippymotors.co.uk/ before this suggestion came up.

..Living  where you do, I'm surprised that there isn't some local bylaw making them compulsory!

I think they are!

Both the Isle of Avalon and Old Oaks are great.

The Rifleman's shut last year but has now re-opened with temporary tenants. Music just restarting. Fingers crossed for it.

Hopefully I won't get told off, for continuing off topic......

I hadn't realised that the Rifleman's had closed down!..hopefully, it'll come good..

(..although a bit of a spruce up, probably wouldn't go amiss...  ).

Re: Isle of Avalon site...

On one occasion, when booking in(in, our then, motorhome),I did ask about a "seasonal"/long term caravan pitch...only to be told that they didn't to 'em!...although it was pretty obvious that they did...?!

...and she seemed quite "prickly" about it...

As we've now reverted to a more basic "camping-van", something like a small sited caravan, may be an good addition(especially for "off-season" use), so maybe I'll ask them again....

Again with apologies for hi jacking the thread.

The Rifleman's is in a terrible state I believe. It needs investment! The King Arthur has been under new ownership for a couple of years now and is great - live music 7 nights a week and a good atmosphere. Wetherspoons have announced they are looking for a site in central Glastonbury (on my dead body!). There's already a lot of local opposition.

People do seem to have vans there all year round. I think she might have to be careful for licencing reasons. Ask her again.

I think they have a strict limit on number of vans, when we left they already had a waiting list of people wanting to keep a van there, perhaps you just caught them on a bad day or they didn't want to add to the waiting list.

That was our conclusion...but as we didn't(still don't) have a van that needs siting, we didn't bother pursuing it....

(Fight that Wetherspoons!..what with supermarkets AND them, it'll squash some of the other, long standing pubs....) ..

Edit: Sorry Julie,..I crossed you post, "numbers" may well have been an issue(..it was just the flat, "..No.." that struck me).She certainly wasn't rude and we've been back umpteen times since...
