It’s time that I changed my Motor Caravan with a number of points in mind.
I need a camper where making up the bed does not too much strength.
Where the driving seat slides back far enough to allow me to tilt the seat back. The designer of my current model was an idiot.
Where the seating is comfortable.
I admit that I did not spend enough time in looking at this model where the shape was what attracted me so this time as it will probably be my last camper I have to get it right so any advice is welcome.
I prefer to buy second hand privately and I wonder if there are any shows that are built round individuals who want to sell their second hand models. I am not interested in buying a new camper and watch it drop 30% as soon as I drive it out of the dealers forecourt. I know that the magazine advertises campers but I can't find any here.
Hi
I am not sure about physical locations but websites such as
www.Caravanfinder.co.uk and www.motorhomedepot.com are a good information point.
I would be interested to learn more about your dissatisfaction with your Hymer B544 we are considering trading up from our family coach built as our chidden reach university ages and a mid size A class such as a b544 what many aspire to.
Regards,
Guy.
------------- It's only an expensive hobby when it's parked on your Drive....use it, love it , live it.
I did not mean to give the impression that I criticized because I really enjoyed the 544 that I had and only sold it when my wife and I stopped Motor caravanning for a while. The bed was first rate because one just had to pull it down. I did not name my current Motor Caravan because I thought it unfair to do so.
I can't imagine any show happening for people trying to sell second hand motorhomes etc.
In order for such a show to happen, someone needs to organise it and that someone needs to be paid. Then you need venue hire, possibly toilet hire, public liability insurance, publicity, on day marshalling, first aid and lost kiddy tent - plus other stuff I don't know about.
And where would the money come from? Vendors - why bother, there's eBay.
Buyers - why bother when you can look round a showroom for free and then go somewhere else!
Mister_Tee,
The only problem is that the closest showroom to me carries mostly new or very expensive ones. My next Motor Home is going to be selected on what I learnt from all the others that I've owned so I would like to see a selection of the around £20,00.00 models. That may be wishful thinking but thats part of the joy of life.
I've had a look at the WOKINGHAM EXHIBITION 28th June-20th July and the Web Page carries a very poor description of what is there and there is no E-Mail contact for deaf old bods such as myself who don't use the telephone.
