A motorhome is charged more for a pitch because the site owners think that after buying a 40-50thousand motorhome you are comfortable well off and will pay the rip off charge. Simple really, its just down to greed, and will continue while mugs are prepared to pay it.
Tell them the reasons you will not book with them as you depart.

The CCC as the pricing structure correct, and one pays per person per night, unless you have a really huge tent requiring a much larger pitch.
