We never use shoes inside the MH, we have a mat just inside the habitation door entrance and we leave them on that, then put slippers on if it's cold, or nothing when it's hot.

In summer we take all the carpets out, but put them back in winter.

The thing with a 'sticky' clear carpet protector....the ones you see over the carpets in showrooms....they have a reminder on them to remove as soonas the 'van is soldand to be used. Apparently...this 'sticky adhesive will attract dirt if left on carpets for a long period.

We in both of our new 'vans have removed the fitted carpets ( the bound edge /press stud down type ) and placed above new carpeting bought cheapy as mentioned above, and marked around the original , so creating a pattern to cut around. We then copydex the edges to prevent shedding when vacuumed, and the pristine as new carpets are then either put in roof space...or slid under our beds. We are going to try a winter without any carpets at all this year, as they must weigh a fair old lump.That way we can use the weight lost to add more weighty clothing. It may yet be a dissaster, as we hate cold feet. If you do make a pattern yourselves for this type of carpet removal....remember to make sure before you cut ...Mirror image?

Be sure to make quite certain that your carpet 'to go back in' when selling has been stored correctly or this could be a time waster...ie dont store where rats and mice can get at it.....they like to be warm too.!
