Hi we are thinking of buying one of the new blow up awnings, has anyone got one and if so are they worth the expense,it will be for a small camper.many thanks.
We have a vango kela tall for our autocruise starburst.Have used it a total of fifteen nights but not as a drive away.It is easy to put up and pack away, fits easily under the side seats on our van.The only issued I have is the "tunnel" fitment to the site of the van.Try as I might I cannot get anything like a seal between awning and van(Have used a kador strip, and also tried the over roof straps supplied.)
The pump attachment is not the best of designs, and frequently detatches when inflating the awning. As a relative newcomer to m/homing I think they are a vast improvement on the pole type awnings(Having watched people take over three hours to erect one)
They are expensive, but well made and have a quality feel to the materials. We got a 10% discount fromTowsure and also bought the footprint and carpet. It adds useful space for table and chairs and I would recommend them.We fall foul of the "six metre rule" on c.and c. club sites but have always been accommodated somewhere on site.
We have a outdoor revolution oxygen, really pleased with it,
We have always had outdoor revolution awnings when we had a caravan and they are very durable,
I much prefer the blow up poles to the thin bendy type poles I had with our old drive away awning and they seem well made.
I wouldn't personally use the blow up awning for just a couple of days somewhere though as I have a Quechua base seconds pop up tent that goes up and is pegged out within 5 minutes,
------------- Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
Vango Airbeam....Model Sapera Tall....you would require just the standard height for your van conversion. The Kela is not as long as the Sapera, and would take both less space on the pitch, and less space within your van enroute. Superb tool it is. We are delighted with ours, a quality product, so versatile and easily erected. They both come with innertents also.
hi I have a Vango Kela on a T5 van and that is big enough for the two of us,fast and easy to put up and small enough to store
------------- You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
