Our little village is quite high up and courtesy of a local private club is where we park our MH.
We've had heavy snow and although the roads have been cleared, I can't for the life of me get the MH out of the car park due to a twisty incline which is quite slippy with packed snow.
Must shift it by Monday as its booked in to get the cam belts and water pump done.
I'm thinking of lowering the front tyre pressures to about 35, hoping I will get a grip, then drive steadily to the garage to get the job done and tyres inflated, about 12 miles.
Anyone done this with success?
Cheers.

I've  sometimes lowered the tyre pressures when we've been about to drive onto a  very soft/muddy  'site and it has helped..but that was dropping it down to around 15 psi(..when I initially just dropping it by 10-15psi, it didn't make much difference, in our case).

I've no idea how beneficial it'd be on snow though...once the tread is packed full of snow again, presumably it'd be back to square one?....minimal grip?

I'd want to be damned sure that I wasn't going to end up sliding it into a ditch or a gate post....especially when it's only going to the garage to have work done anyway

(..it'd be totally different if you'd been caught out, away from home and you needed to get back.....).

If it doesn't look like clearing, I'd just phone the garage..(besides,you never know, you could  risk getting there, only to find that some of their blokes haven't turned up anyway, as they are snowed in at home!)

The garage is 'snow free'
Two and a half miles from here there's a ski slope with a lift. So once the owner starts getting excited we know we're in for a nasty spell.....😉

I tend to agree with you Saxo..
Years ago I had some nylon snow chains. A little like a huge cable ties. They got me out of many a fix in my caravan days.
I've not seen them for sale since then.

Our local LIDL do snow chains for £20.

Don't forget if you get it out you my not get it back in with the brakes going down the same slope.

I agree.
A bit of snow and we grind to a halt!
Our next trip isn't until the end of February so let's hope it's thawed by then.....😃

I find BBC1 local news/ weather pretty reliable forecast, you still could have asked the garage to park there tho,by the way my numbers come up a few years back

enjoy

I'm not sure where you're going with this.
The repair was to be carried out on the Tuesday but he agreed I could park it up on the Saturday.
It snowed unexpectedly on Friday night and the incline to the MH's bay froze over. After that is snowed for three days.
You must have a boring life.
End of my tale of woe as yours is much more urgent.
