How do you find out what how much the panel is producing please? We had ours fitted at the end of last year and we're not convinced all is well beacause the battery does seem to drop even with nothing on.
Thanks
Dawn
Thanks fleck, is that the same as a multi meter? I have one of those but I don't know what to do with it! I wish I was blonde, at least I'd have an excuse
Lol, no they have the same multimeter features but they measure current with a big jaw on one end. It means the current doesn't flow through the meter and they can measure big currents.
If your multimeter has got a DC amps scale you might be able to use that but they usually only go up to 10 amps. You have to plug the lead into the other socket on the meter too.
If you post a pic of your meter I'll tell you if its of use.
Select the 10a scale (the one in Orange at 2 o'clock )
Plug the red lead into the 10a socket on the left.
Then you've got to put the meter in series with the panel so the current flows through the meter. In other words you would usually disconnect the red lead from the panel and put the red lead on it, then put the black lead on the battery.
Clamp meters are good because you don't have to disconnect anything, simply put one of the cables inside the jaws.
