We've just bought one of these and can't figure out where the freestanding table, that lives in the store cupboard, is supposed to go! If put up next to side facing seating it is jammed in that space & you can't get in or out! Any advice welcome:)
Two days, and you've had no answer. Not sure mine will help, but have you tried looking at YouTube videos? Lots of dealers seem to use these to show off their vans now. I don't know your MH, but there was a very quick sight of a table in one video that suggested that the side facing seat gets taken away. Easiest thing would be to ask your dealer - but I'm sure someone in the UKCS forum will give you firm advice soon... (Massive van, BTW. Wouldn't fancy driving it on some of the single track west coast roads where you may have to reverse round a blind corner to a passing place, but I hope you have many happy holidays in it.)
Thanks for the suggestion but I've already tried the dealers videos and no joy :( Unfortunately the dealer we bought it from is not a Bailey dealer nor particularly helpful:(
Hopefully someone will respond soon. Glad to say I'm not driving it! My Polo is more than big enough for me!
hello I have a 740 which has two side facing seats my table sits between those seats it is big but you can get past. On the bailey website your table is placed in front on the forward facing seats leaving access by the the side facing seats.Hope this helps I would suggest if the table sticks out beyond forward seats you may have wrong type of table
Thanks for the thought but we have 2 tables! The forward facing one, that hooks onto the side wall and another freestanding one ! It's this freestanding one that fits in the storgage space for it. Very odd
I had two tables on my previous MH a Compass Avantagrde one to be hooked to the wall in the dining area and one freestanding for use in the end lounge similar to bailey 765 Maybe yours is additional for outside use. There is a similar post on Caravan Club forum asking same question as you.
Ironically I was leaving a local beach today after dog-walking with some friends and there was a 745 parked in the next car park! So I stopped my car and accosted the owners - who were v helpful. Basically it goes by the side facing settee, but barely fits in there as it is too big and you have to slide in - luckily my husband and I are not overweight or we'd never manage it. It can't be used outside as the nice people told me both tables are too high for ordinary chairs - they had tried it!
And it was me who posted on the Caravan Club site asking the same question
As you know we have the 740 and we find the table very large and heavy. Every time we get in and out we have to pull it in so the other person can get out!!! Because the Baileys are wider than normal I suppose the table has to also be wider. If I could find a suitable tradesman I would have the table reduced in size by about 5 inches each end which would make it much better. I even contacted Bailey direct as on their spares webpage they say tables are made to order and I asked if they would make me another of a smaller size but regretfully they won't. Having said that there are dozens of tables of different sizes which might be OK for you but they are not cheap.
Thanks David, the table is a real dilemma. I can't understand why they made it so big - it's a waste of materials. No wonder they have changed the design in the new models! And yea, we had thought about getting it made narrower!
