Hi, any ideas why the running lights on my Peugeot Boxer/Elddis 130 Signature Motor Home are working ONLY on one-side? Each side comprises 2 bulbs + 2 LED lights. Bulbs are working fine. Want to locate the fuse but have no idea where it is located. The Boxer has 3 fuse-boxes and the Elddis only the main 240 volt PCB (have checked this and running lights not connected to the board).
Possible they may be auxillary fuses but cant find their location. PS All lights on boxer work fine (both sides)
Any help appreciated.
Remove the lenses and bulbs and then spray some WD40 on to the contacts. Re-fit the bulbs but leave the lenses off and re-test to see if they work as it could be a dirty earth or even surface corrosion that is causing the problem. If that doesn't work then interchange the bulbs over from the opposite side to double check it's not the bulbs at fault.
If that fails then you can look towards fuses etc. but normally the near and far side work off the same lighting circuit.
Are the running lights part of the Peugeot chassis or part of the motorhome body? If part of chassis & vehicle is under 3yrs old then chassis warranty should still be current & your local Peugeot garage should fix it free.
In my experience the convertor installed running lights have been wired in with the standard Fiat lighting wiring from the main Fiat fuse box.
Also noticed on one van (a Fiat/Mobilvetta outfit) that one fuse fed the front o/s and the rear n/s lights, other fuse fed the front n/s and the rear o/s lights. Done by design apparently but somewhat confusing when fault finding!
Helps if you have both the Fiat and the Eldis wiring diagrams of course!
------------- The older I get the better I used to be.
Just had a similar problem myself, the front 2 LED running lights stopped working, I ordered some more and replaced them, and now they work fine, LEDs don't last forever (mine were 3 years old) running lights added by the converter are usually wired to the habitation fuse box to avoid conflict with the vehicles canbus wiring
Guess the wiring could be a bit of a mystery depending on the converter. As said the running lights on a 2002 Mobilivetta we had were definitely wired to the Fiat fuse box in the engine compartment.
But recall seeing warnings in MMM (I think) about other canbus components getting upset if bulbs/lights of the wrong type are fitted on modern vans. All designed to deter diy maintenance I guess!
On our current van Adria seem to have integrated all their 'stuff' including the lights into the Fiat canbus system. All a bit of a mystery to me how they do it but suffice to say the central locking also includes the habitation door as well as the alarm system. Clever chaps the Slovenians!
Btw - better not speak too soon but have not had a vehicle light failure, whether filament or Led since the days of Ford Cortinas in the 1970's!
