We've recently purchased our first motorhome!! Can anyone tell me if the radio/CD player in the cab run off the car battery or the electric when connected to a hook up???

The radio will be a 12v car radio so probably won't work for long with the ignition off but it obviously depends on your motorhome and how it has been wired.

When my ignition is off, the radio switches to the leisure battery.
As Rob pointed out, it depends on your system.

It definitely won't be powered by 240 volt mains electricity but as already mentioned it depends how the CD/Radio is wired up via the 12 volt electrics. The radio will most likely be powered by the vehicle battery the same way as a car is but if it does switch over to the leisure battery all you have to do is disconnect one of the leisure battery terminals and see if the radio works or not. If it does then it is evident that the power is being delivered via the vehicle battery only.
