Could anyone recommend a drive away awning (or stationary) for a Toyota Hiave Campervan please?

Not an "awning" but we use a Quechua Base tent against our Hiace van.

I've also fitted an awning-rail to our roof bars, so that I can attach a *small tarp strip to bridge the small gap along the top of the open door..

( *I did initially use it with our Easicanopy (set-up in Gallery)..but that was a bad idea because it was too flat and would pool with rain water...)

Ooh that looks like a good idea. We're looking for one for ours too and were thinking of a air beam one but they're so expensive. Just a bit worried I wouldn't be able to pack it down again! Hxx

They're actually pretty easy to drop down..but you do have to be take it by the scruff of the neck!..if you faff about...and it sees the doubt/fear in your eyes, then you risk it getting the better of you!

Daniella, You used the term 'Air Beam', that is a trade mark of Vango....not a problem with that, you also said expensive. Indeed they are....BUT...they have many many years experience with 'blow up' tents, and devised the system that they first used for tents, and saw the potential for drive aways. They are now run of the mill, every body makes them. The cheaper ones are cheaper for a reason, and I know that deals can be made on Vango products, you just need to do a bit of phoning around. Try Attwoolls, in Gloucestershire.....They deliver for free on anything as expensive as an awning. All tents are made abroad these days.

Thanks to this thread we have bought a Quechua pop up as above. So far really impressed. Very good quality and I've even managed to get it down pretty quickly (and it's helped me master the kid's dreaded pop ups!). Bought the ground sheet and may even get the bedroom incase we have guests/snorers!

Thanks! Hxx

Could anyone tell me how to get the seats in my Toyota hi ace 1994 , to lay flat for the bed after having touring caravans for years ,decided to buy a small camper van ,just got it last week with plenty of history ,but no instructions on the inside ,workings, the seating that would make the bed is Bothe seats facing onto the centre table or ,tip the front seating bench to face forward . the three way fridge has a press button green light on when press, is this for when using gas only, or for the twelve volt set up ,any advice would be great, there are two leavers on Bothe seats that allow the seats to slide ,and face forward or ,or rear facing ,the two seat ,is in front of the kitchen ,and the three seat one behind the cab seats ,with battery and diesel blow heater ,confined under them ,

May the roof of your camper
never fall in ,and the couple inside ,never fall out,

Hi. There should be a handle on the panel beneath the long seat. Turn and pull towards you until it locks. You then need to get hold of the back and bottom of that seat and bring to the centre. It should then roll into place. The bed is made by then placing the back rests of the 2 rear single seats into the space which should by then be obvious. It's really hard to explain and somebody may be able to explain it better! Good luck
